Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of New Proposition Development to lead the strategic vision, planning, and execution of innovative product and service offerings to drive rapid growth and differentiation within our organization.   Reporting to the Marketing and Product Director you will spearhead the creation and development of new propositions that align with market demands, customer needs and business objectives. 
  • Ownership of new proposition development across our 15+ brands and 30+ products/markets across personal lines, small/medium entities and corporate customer groups distributing in retail, affinity and wholesale (broker) channels
  • Responsible for new product and proposition strategy across current and future markets, and expansion into new territories (eg Europe) including digital and broker distribution
  • Owning the New Proposition Development pipeline including ideation, design, MVP and prototyping, test and learn and scaling
  • Create and lead a dynamic, commercially astute team of cross-functional product/proposition development specialists to develop and deliver new products to market 
  • Leading cross divisional development and implementation of new product/propositions with key stakeholders including finance, risk, operations, commercial, distribution, marketing and IT
  • Develop and implement compelling, insight led business cases 
  • Champion the development and delivery of core new product/proposition development approaches including design thinking, lean startup and agile delivery
  • Owning the delivery of ambitious commercial growth targets including revenue and profit targets
  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships with Executive level stakeholders across multiple divisions and Group functions, including Group Change Committee
  • Extensive experience in a senior NPD role, with a track record of successfully introducing and growing new products and propositions to market and new territories
  • Significant experience of Design Thinking, Lean Startup and Agile methodologies including introducing and managing these across multiple business units and brands 
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics, customer behaviour, and industry trends, with a track record of utilising this to create innovative products and services.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market and customer insights into actionable plans and business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and building consensus around new proposition strategies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from inception to commercialisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and driving results under pressure.
  • Passion for innovation and a relentless pursuit of excellence, with a willingness to challenge the status quo and explore unconventional ideas
  • Experience of developing and delivering products within a regulated environment (insurance experience helpful)
