Head of Trading Operations

Role is 100% office based in Park Royal with parking facilities on-site

Salary is £80-90k DOE Plus a £6k Car Allowance

Preferred: Significant experience gained a similar role within a retail or wholesale environment.

A senior role with our Trading team with group accountability for process development and continual improvement to drive efficient ways of working, ownership of the Trading teamwork plan and the lead for the Trading team on all projects across the business. Responsible for the range team, analyst team and central administration team.

We would look at: A senior manager with a Supply Chain background, Commercial background, a Category Management background or even a senior project manager.

KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS

Essential

*An established Senior leader with a good track record of success in achieving targets in a fast moving, results driven culture.

*Significant experience gained working in senior Trading and Supply Chain roles through either product and range management, central administration management or project based roles.

*An experienced leader/people manager who is able to lead, motivate and inspire a high performing team to maximise results working with both direct reports and in a matrix environment.

*Experience of working closely in the development of category strategies in a FMCG environment.

*Ability to use own initiative and actively empower own team.

*Can work at pace in a dynamic environment.

*Goal orientated with a track record of success.

*Highly skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

*High levels of accuracy with good attention to detail in a time pressured environment.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

*Works closely with the Group Trading Director and Trading Directors for Retail and Wholesale, as well as the wider Trading team, leading the activity and continuous improvement agenda for the Trading function.

*Be the driving force in process development and improvement, delivering efficient and effective change across the Trading team.

*Control work flow through the Trading team by working closely with all stakeholders in managing the priorities of the Trading department.

*Support the Group in maximising profits through effective range planning and range management processes with KPIs that are communicated to the Trading teams.

*Ensure effective ranging strategies are in place and to influence category direction.

*Work closely with the retail store planning teams to influence ranging and spacing based on relevant data and market trends using your expertise, experience and judgement.

*Support the development of reporting mechanisms to provide insight to the business and director teams that enables efficient and accurate decision making.

*Lead the range and central administration teams, providing clear direction in order for them to reach their full potential and deliver right first time product file administration.

*Lead price benchmarking and analysis work across the Trading function.

*Responsible for the data analysis team within Trading, providing product and category performance insight and conducting ad-hoc analysis as required to support commercial decision making.

*Keep up to date with industry development and trends to ensure the company utilises all up-to-date techniques to benchmark and stay ahead of its competitors.
