The newly established dBs Institute – Manchester Centre at New Century has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing & Engagement Officer to join a fresh and dynamic marketing, engagement and student liaison team

Primarily focusing on marketing and engagement for student recruitment within the Manchester City and the Greater Manchester Area (UK only), the successful candidate will be working with colleagues across the dBs Institute to raise the awareness and profile of dBs Institute – Manchester Centre, to subsequently increase recruitment, build networks of professional contacts and industry partners, develop, plan, co-ordinate and execute effective marketing and engagement activities for stakeholders and promote the dBs Institute – Manchester centre, its courses, services, portfolio and experience.

About You

This role plays an important part in promoting a commercial business culture throughout the dBs Institute and championing the overall stakeholder and partner engagement activities with a customer-service driven ethos. As a result, previous experience of working in an advisory, customer service, marketing/ sales, admissions and events environment or UK education sector ideally developing, fostering and supporting relationships is essential.

Qualifications (essential):

Good honours degree in relevant subject area (ie. at 2.1 or First level)

Or

Vocational qualifications (NVQ 2-3, City & Guild) or equivalent, plus some experience in a relevant role.

Or

Considerable experience in a marketing and engagement capacity, working with key stakeholders
GCSE English at Grade C/4 or above (or an equivalent standard)

Qualifications (desirable):

IAG qualification

Or

Existing experience in FE or HE Institution in particular admissions and marketing, sales and/or recruitment

Or

Relevant knowledge of the secondary school and/or sixth form sector

Or

Experience of developing promotional educational resources for potential students, staff, parents and advisors in schools and colleges

You must have have strong organisational and administrative skills, feel confident and comfortable with travelling to-and-from events/ activities and revel in remote working.

Other Duties include:

Routinely communicating complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge as well as to peers using high level skills and a range of media.
Being responsible for data gathering, analysis and reporting on activities with a view to improving and maintaining the dBs Institute’s position.
Undertaking general clerical support, administrative activities, supporting student-focused marketing and engagement activities and producing other supporting material.
Co-ordinating the work of colleagues to identify and respond to stakeholder needs and conduct risk assessments, to reduce hazards and take responsibility for the health and safety of self, stakeholders, students and others

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

Evidence of the ability to engage with a diverse range of people and sectors in order to ensure a high level of customer service.
Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with mature, self-confidence, pro-active nature and can use initiative
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritise and organise a varied workload.
A positive and adaptable approach with eagerness to learn and work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.

*Having prior educational advisory/student recruitment experience would be advantageous

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
