Location: Remote (occasional meetings via Zoom)
Pay: £15/hr | 10-15 hours per week
Start Date: Immediate
Hours: Flexible

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established children’s education business operating across multiple locations. They are preparing the business for sale and require part-time finance support to manage day-to-day financial operations, tidy up accounts, and ensure smooth cash flow management.

This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper or finance assistant who thrives in a small business environment and can quickly and efficiently organise the company’s finances.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a hands-on Finance Assistant to take ownership of their financial processes. The successful candidate will help manage debt, track expenses, and ensure the business is sale-ready. You’ll work closely with the business owner but will have full autonomy over financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage and reconcile invoices, payments, and ensure creditors are kept in check.

  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, assist with budgeting, and ensure timely payments (including payroll).

  • Debt Management: Work to reduce outstanding debts by implementing structured repayment plans.

  • Financial Reporting: Provide regular reports on financial performance and assist with preparing financial statements.

  • General Finance Admin: Keep financial records organised, liaise with creditors, and assist with queries.

What Our Client Is Looking For:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping/finance roles for SMEs.

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software (ideally QuickBooks).

  • Ability to manage multiple financial tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Experience working with businesses preparing for sale is a plus.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proactive mindset—able to identify issues and suggest improvements.

Why Join Our Client?

  • Flexible working hours—perfect for freelancers or part-timers.

  • Play a critical role in preparing a business for sale and shaping its financial future.

  • Work directly with the owner of a growing M&A and business coaching firm.
