Our client is a well-established children’s education business operating across multiple locations. They are preparing the business for sale and require part-time finance support to manage day-to-day financial operations, tidy up accounts, and ensure smooth cash flow management.
This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper or finance assistant who thrives in a small business environment and can quickly and efficiently organise the company’s finances.
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a hands-on Finance Assistant to take ownership of their financial processes. The successful candidate will help manage debt, track expenses, and ensure the business is sale-ready. You’ll work closely with the business owner but will have full autonomy over financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage and reconcile invoices, payments, and ensure creditors are kept in check.

Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, assist with budgeting, and ensure timely payments (including payroll).

Debt Management: Work to reduce outstanding debts by implementing structured repayment plans.

Financial Reporting: Provide regular reports on financial performance and assist with preparing financial statements.

General Finance Admin: Keep financial records organised, liaise with creditors, and assist with queries.
What Our Client Is Looking For:

Proven experience in bookkeeping/finance roles for SMEs.

Strong working knowledge of accounting software (ideally QuickBooks).

Ability to manage multiple financial tasks with minimal supervision.

Experience working with businesses preparing for sale is a plus.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
