Role purpose

A Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, test and implement efficient solutions that meet business and customer requirements.


Key responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will develop complex solutions within own area of technical expertise.
  • Carry out impact assessment of complex changes to existing applications.
  • Document and agree design in advance and to agreed standards.
  • Ensure all code meets Group standards, guidelines, and quality gates for given technology.
  • Check all code is thoroughly tested to ensure any issues are identified as early as possible, working closely with the test team.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the team.
  • Contribute to software development practice by sharing ideas and experience.


Essential Criteria

  • Training will be provided where necessary however candidates need to understand some of the following technologies: ServiceNow, MS Orchestrator, PowerShell, Pester, Azure Automation, Testing (Cucumber, Protractor), or SQL.
  • Technical knowledge of one or more programming languages e.g., PowerShell, SQL
  • Can work without supervision.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
  • Awareness of agile development practices.
  • Familiar with automated testing techniques and frameworks.
