Supply Chain Manager - Automotive

We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to be the lead and driving force for one of our Premium Automotive Customer Aftermarkets within Unipart Logistics. You will set and deliver both the vision and strategy for optimum supply chain performance. We would like you to have experience in managing complex end to end automotive supply chains, including inventory planning, forecasting, supplier management, expediting, special activities, procurement, operations and transport. You will be ultimately responsible and accountable for driving best in class parts availability, minimising back order levels and driving schedule adherence across the supply base. You will create the roadmap to a stronger fit for purpose future state, robustly driving improvements and delivering the day to day, whilst engaging and developing your team to deliver against their objectives.

Your key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Understand best in class approaches to supply chain providing direction and leadership, to your direct team and supporting functions
  • Creating the environment and culture for improvement
  • Driving appropriate measurement and metrics of all supply chain activities
  • Reporting regularly to the customer on supply chain performance, utilising the metrics and evaluating performance data to forecast business needs and make robust recommendations
  • Developing strategy, business cases and project plans to drive continuous improvement, in line with Innovation, Digital and Industry 4.0 standards
  • Support and lead cross functional activity and projects within the Unipart Aftersales Team, including customer service, operations, freight and compliance
  • Enhance opportunities and deliver business growth with the customer, influencing strategic decision making for future parts operations and increased service offerings
  • Acting as an advisor and consultant to the customer teams, guiding and leading them in best practice
  • Ensuring the wider impacts of supply chain/purchasing approaches are understood
  • Communicate ideas, clearly, persuasively, with conviction and pride, this may be via phone, email, video call or face to face presentations at a senior level within both the customer and Unipart business

About You:

  • A passionate supply chain professional, who will create and drive the supply chain strategy
  • Highly motivated, analytical, numerate and literate
  • Commercially astute, understanding the wider impacts of decisions
  • Able to thrive in a demanding but collaborative environment
  • Able to develop collaborative senior level internal and customer relationships
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a successful track record in developing teams
  • History of delivering strong performance & KPI results
  • Proven track record in the use of demand forecasting and reporting tools
  • Working MRP knowledge (SAP preferable)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Salary: Up to £72,000 plus car / car allowance
Location: Cowley – with blended working from home
