Support Worker

We are currently looking to recruit Support Workers to work on a 2:1 basis to start the creation of a complex care team for a young gentlemen who is going to be transitioning into his own home within the future.

This role is for a part time flexible position- starting off working alongside the day centre staff and family to learn about the clients requirements and ways of living. then eventually becoming a part of the care team working within a complex care team for this client.

The client currently lives at home with his Mum and Dad in Solihull, West Midlands He has Autism, sensory processing challenges and a diagnosis of Epilepsy.

The client has now successfully transitioned into a day service for the last 2 years as part of an EHCP funded provision.

For the client to be well supported, and whilst he has 24 hour paid help, a dedicated team leader is integral to success. It would be beneficial for the team leader to be recruited with the client and his family’s involvement and to work alongside this young gentleman as well as having some dedicated management hours so that they know what is going on day to day and form a good relationship with him.

  • Responsive, intuitive and sensitive to the clients feelings, emotions and what might make him anxious
  • Flexible towards their job; willing to change approach, change working patterns and take clients away for a break if needed
  • Willing to learn new things, and not believe they know everything already
  • Have a valid UK Driving License
  • Be experienced with Individuals with Autism and behaviours that challenge.
