Let us introduce the role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Training Quality Specialist to join the Skills & Training Team within HR.

This role will be predominantly focussed on designing and delivering 'Train the Trainer' courses and developing the skills sets of all individuals who provide on-the-job (OJT) practical training and task performance evaluation across the organisation.

In this role you will be involved in:

  • The design, systemisation and delivery of an in-house Train the Trainer programme for OJT
  • Implementing an observation programme to assure the quality of OJT training through task performance evaluation
  • Developing the skills sets of the trainers responsible for OJT training through building supporting materials for the Training Community Sharepoint site
  • Providing individual development plans and support to trainers who do not achieve the desired standards
  • Build a community of trainers and ensure records are kept up to date of all individuals who carry out OJT
  • Working closely with training teams within operational delivery units in conjunction with HR Training Partners

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

  • A proven and credible trainer with experience in delivering the principles of operational based training
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills adept at supporting subject matter experts through a collaborative approach
  • A good working knowledge of adapting delivery styles to learning styles through a background knowledge of learning models
  • Be organised and maintain high standards, leading by example and demonstrating continual professional development through your actions
  • Must have good IT skills and be willing and able to work within HR applications to ensure records are maintained for compliance purposes
  • Be willing to bring your ideas, personality and a sense of individuality to the team

The successful applicant will report directly to the Training Quality Manager (OJT) and will work within the Training Quality team, part of the Skills and Training Sub-Function in HR.
