Since we took over on the East Coast mainline, we've been changing the face of rail travel. Our new Azuma train has brought faster journey times, more space and greater reliability. Our exciting plans to embrace new ideas, experiences, backgrounds and ambitions make this the ideal time to join.

Bringing passion. Being bold. Always caring. Owning it. They're the values that make us LNER.

Are you on board?

As a Cleaning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our trains and stations meet and exceed the highest standards of presentation. Reporting directly to the Senior Presentation Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining presentation standards, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to enhance the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage presentation standards through an established audit regime, providing professional advice and guidance where necessary.
  • Develop a deep understanding of contracts related to cleaning and presentation activities within LNER, and oversee day-to-day responsibilities related to these contracts.
  • Produce management information reports to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor activities across the LNER network, which may involve working nights, travel on and off our network, and overnight stays.
  • Work closely with the Fleet Delivery team to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective provision of clean train services to our customers.
  • Champion a culture of excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement in customer service presentation standards across LNER.

Key Competencies:

  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and inspiring others to achieve the highest standards.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
  • Track record of driving continuous improvement and innovation in customer service environments.
  • Highly professional, detail-oriented, and self-reliant.
  • Proficient in IT packages, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in rolling stock presentation and performance, with a solid understanding of operational demands and supplier management desirable
  • Proven ability to initiate and drive change for the benefit of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate others towards behavioural change.
  • Self-starter with acute attention to detail and a methodical approach.
